A CONFUSION DOUBLE CONFOUNDED.
Through the years of reading from various dependable fountains of information about The History of The Christian Community;
few thoughts had lingered in my mind for a long time but lately I made a decision to follow through the quest of finding out
the why in the middle of the first century to about the end of the four, there was a consistent happening of “houses
of worship burned down, BIBLES burned to nothing and murdering religious translators” as it was mentioned in previous
writings and I want you dear reader to know; “it takes a lot of digging out.”
Who did that? In our days when explosions occurred in Moslem territories, most of the times some fanatic groups assume
the responsibility, but about those religious atrocities no a group has ever confessed that their ancestors were the protagonists
of such crimes. But History shows it happen, the question is WHY DID THEY HAPPEN??
This the reader must know first, let your conscience guide you; we begin by saying that from the Day of Pentecost on, the
Sacrament of Baptism was with CALLING (INVOKING) THE NAME OF THE LORD TO BE SAVED. We follow the same trail through the Acts
of The Apostles, and the first 100 years after them, then some discrepancies began to appear toward the end of that first
century. Peter and Paul both mentioned that things contrary to the truth were to be preached soon after their departure. Jude
( Jesus’ brother) in not uncertain tone wrote …earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the
saints. WHY THEY HAVE TO CONTEND FOR THE TRUTH? The very truth that Apostle John wrote about…which dwelleth in us, and
shall be with us for ever. Who where the contenders in the other side in 100+ A.D. ? Why that contention for the truth? My
digging out is; and has been very meaningful then; isn’t ?
As mentioned in other writings, a pagan philosopher by the name of Justin, got converted to Christianity around that time,
we assume that he was baptized as everybody else who believed in the Messiah as Savior because he wrote about his baptism
…for remission of his sins, unto a new birth , to obtain remission of his sins, have the desire to be a new born, and
had repented from his pass sins. All that was fine, but why he wrote a new formula for baptism? That, did not last and got
replaced by another formula which was also replaced by what Tertullian said …not only once but trice, one immersion
for each person in the trinity… (talking about an invention) And they omitted …for remission of sins. All that
happen among pre-catholic bishops, knowing that at that time baptism was known as the “seal of true salvation”
This was the beginning of the confusion that crept into Christendom becoming confusion double confounded , because around
that period of time the confounded half- converted pagan philosopher with his point of view of the Father and the Son as the
first God, and second God; he began some thing that was instead of …CALLING ON THE NAME OF THE LORD… erasing like
that the truth of SALVATION in his confusion and the first baby steps toward a plurality of persons in the baptismal form
were already given until “it grew” up to a complete size 325 A.D. And the formulation of the three gods was IMPOSED
slow but sure, and promoters of that persuasion began to baptize openly their new converts IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, OF THE
SON, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT; they then declared …he therefore that MUST BE SAVED should call on the trinity… instead
of in the Name of The Lord Jesus Christ. (Cyprian’s time.)
Some years later, the baptism of infants began and they made their dogma official by a forced CONVERSION to Christendom.
We already mention how serious Justin was about baptism, nevertheless, he proclaimed that Socrates and Plato were CHRISTIANS!
(making void the real truth of salvation) He wrote against the Apostolic teachings that God was in Jesus Christ, now in heaven
as the Everlasting Father; and as mentioned in previous writings about Justin the martir, a close disciple of him; wrote that
Jesus was the TRUE FATHER…To make the confusion more notable or should I say to add to it, we bring in the factor that
Justin had assess to the epistles before translation where he read about the salutations of Paul to the brotherhood and written
in Greek with out comas and without italic marks; did his disciple got about Jesus being the true Father from reading Paul’s
salutations? Here they are: Roms. 1:7 …grace to you and peace from God Father of us and Lord Jesus Christ.
1st. Cor. 1:3 …grace be unto you and peace from God Father of us and Lord Jesus Christ.
2nd. Cor. 1:2 … grace be unto you and peace from God Father of us and Lord Jesus Christ.
Gal. 1:3... grace be unto you and peace from God Father of us and Lord Jesus Christ.
Ephe. 1:2 …grace unto you and peace from God Father of us and Lord Jesus Christ .
Phil. 1:2 …grace unto you and peace from God Father of us and Lord Jesus Christ.
Col. 1:2 …grace unto you and peace from God Father of us and Lord Jesus Christ.
1st. Thess. 1:1 …in God Father of us and Lord Jesus Christ.
2nd. Thess. 1:2 …in God Father of us and Lord Jesus Christ grace to you and peace from God Father and
Lord Jesus Christ.
1st. Tim. 1:2... grace mercy and peace from God Father and Christ Jesus the Lord of us.
2nd. Tim.…grace mercy and peace from God Father and Christ Jesus the Lord of us.
Tit. 1:4 …grace and peace from God Father and Christ Jesus the Savior of us.
Phile. 3 …grace to you and peace from God Father of us and Lord Jesus Christ.
One will profit more to acknowledge that in each of this salutations the word (the) was added at translation; and the word
“and” before the word …Lord… or …Christ… in the original Greek is the word KAI which means
EVEN; which make it read: GRACE TO YOU AND PEACE FROM GOD FATHER OF US “EVEN” LORD JESUS CHRIST.
Thus, Paul wrote about ONE who he calls …God the Father even our Lord Jesus Christ.
That shows the reality of the matter between what Justin did not teach and what his disciple knew about the Scriptures;
Justin believed that the teaching of Plato was superior to the teachings of Paul! That belief has its derives carry on right
to our very days; it is why The Apostles’ Doctrine is not recognized in Christendom as important factor; believed or
not.
In regards to the confusion double confounded, we must bring in the account about the Gospel of Matthew which was written
about 60 years after the beginning of the Church at Jerusalem; which baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission
of sins… (Apostles’ Doctrine)
Matthew wrote his gospel in Hebrew for a congregation he was the overseer out side of Jerusalem; after Matthew left to
go as missionary to Ethiopia the congregation because the persecution went to Cochin, India were a Egyptian-Christian doing
missionary work named Pantaenus 150 A.D. found out that the gospel of Matthew was there among them Hebrew people in that part
of the country; and their emphasis of the gospel message was baptism in the Name of Their Savior.
Why in the name of the Savior? Because in their original writing of Matthew that part in Matthew 28:19 did no have the
words …baptizing in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
According to Catholic History; they said that …The Hebrew Gospel of Matthew was translated to Greek, possible during
the life time of Matthew the original has been lost but the Greek text however, is in substantial conformity with the original…
The case in this confusion is that if Eusebius read from either Hebrew or Greek gospel of Matthew, he never wrote the words
known today …baptizing in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit; Father Jerome, the translator
of the Vulgate wrote that he had translated the Hebrew gospel of Matthew to Latin! And there the words of Matthew 28:19 appears
for Christendom as of today. How about that!
Maybe that confusion disappears knowing that Barnabas, Mark’s uncle, visiting the soon disappearing group of Hebrew
believers took with him, the Hebrew writing of Matthew and he deposited in the Library of Caesarea; where Eusebius
did his scriptural findings; but as far as the ending of Matthew he never wrote ….baptizing in the name of the Father
and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. There are a number of infallible probes of it.
So who added to the words of the Lord Jesus what He never said? Now we also know that the original was no lost; it was
in good hands; more over, we know all about the lie!
So, since Paul wrote in his epistles about one God Father and Lord our Savior; he also wrote in 2nd, Cor. 6
:18 that the Lord from heaven said “…and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith
the Lord Almighty. And so did John, writing that The Lord Jesus from heaven repeated the same heavenly promise “He that
overcometh
shall inherit all things and I will be his God and he shall be my son.”
Well in closing, we can understand why half converted Christians burned Apostolic Scriptures, and even murdered real Christians
to whom Paul have written “...by grace you are saved…” and “…ye are complete in Him…”
Been complete in Him, is one who believes the complete Apostles’ doctrine which they received from the Lord God and
Savior and shares it with others what His God commanded in the ending of Matthew’s gospel “…go and teach
them to carrry out all things which I have commanded you for ever.” Matthew 28:19,20. From Gospel of Matthew in Hebrew.
One cannot teach what he has no learn.
