Open Letter to April, 005.
Prof. M. M. Ninan
Mr. Ninan, my name is Gabriel Mendez, I came to this country U.S.A. many years ago to do missionary work, believed or not.
Now and then, I had the privilege to know by writings that is, about what some authorities of Christendom
Have to say in respect to some touchy subjects of the Bible; this been the case, is how I came to know about some writing
of yours about “infant baptism” presented by you in the Internet.
Your article is way, way too long, I got tired in reading it, very obvious you are not a Baptist, but the reason I am writing
to you is like modern day prophets when they are “a little bit off” nobody dares to tell them about it.
You are “off ” in you long presentation to prove the reality of infant baptism, and I will mention why:
1. You mention that it is possible that in the Apostles’ time there were infant baptisms, (but not proved.)
2. You said that even in the early Church Century “infants received grace …at baptism” (How you can quote
that when you do not believe baptism has anything to do with salvation)
3. You mention that Iraneous wrote 180 A. D. “… one removes the stain by the mystery of baptism…”
(Yet you do not believe baptism is “…for the remission of sins…”)
4. You quote Origen a Bible Teacher 185 A.D. “… Baptizing children for remission of sins and to be born of
water and the Spirit…” (Infant baptism for remission of sins and to be born again) how about that!
My questions to you are WHY YOU USED THOSE TESTIMONIES TO PROVE INFANT BAPTISM, BUT IGNORED WILLINGLY THE “OTHER”?
In addition, as a “good Trinitarian that you are,” you imply that all baptisms were done in the “trinity
name”
Even making mention to “The Didache” 60-100 A.D. An that, in order to back up your assertion.
But how is it that with so much research that you had done in the topic of baptism, you missed the way and never saw that
baptism in the trinity was not on the original Hebrew Text of the Gospel according to Matthew? Instead of mentioning that,
you offered a “new answer of your own opinion” as the proper way to call on the Name of the Lord at baptism saying:
“…when we invoke on one we are invoking all…” “Hear O Israel, the Lord your Gods (is this a
typing mistake or is there a translation written like that???) are One” .
I think in this last segment of yours, you should be more specific.
Since I happen to read your writing on the Website, I will place this open letter on my Website also,
Consider what I say and the Lord give you understanding in all.
Gabriel Mendez.
