AND NOW LET’S RE-COUNT THE VOTES FROM CHURCH HYSTORY:
Pagan philosophy vs. Apostolic Revelation to explain the Divine Godhead.
A PAGAN: any one not having acknowledgment of the Creator God.
PHILOSOPHY:a science of reasons and arguments seeking knowledge of facts
APOSTOLIC: Teachings from The Apostles.
REVELATION: A God given opening of understanding.
Paganism is a “root” hard to kill and produces “seeds of various kinds” and as “bad weeds”
they spring up on their own, for some unknown reason “they flourished” around Ur of the Chaldeans and didn’t
die on the flood; The Lord told His people Israel to be careful not to learn the “…customs of the pagans …lets
it be a snare in the midst of thee…”
Paganism device gods, goddess, celestial helpers, gods from gods, etc. A pagan ruler told Daniel
“…The spirit of the gods in in thee…” Some Israelites at one time believe a cow was their
god, and in another time they thought a goddess queen of heaven feed them.
When Jesus was on earth, the land was flooded with “paganism” and He knew it.
And in the regions where the Apostles did missionary work was as bad or worse, At one time
Some pagans called Paul a “…preacher of new gods,” in another occasion, he and his companion were
called “Gods from Jupiter”, yet in another place he was confronted with worshippers of a goddess supposedly
“Queen of heaven.”
With such knowledge about pagan beliefs, Paul warned Christians. “ …beware of philosophy… and false
science…” and he was not the only one to prevent the brotherhood, but also Peter, John, Judas and James did
the same with not soft words against the pagan s ideas admonished their readers; one of them wrote like this about new doctrines
presented by “…men having form of godliness, reprobate concerning the truth… men professing they knew
God… with their minds and conscience defiled… NOT HAVING THE DOCTRINE OF CHRIST AND NOT HAVING THE SPIRIT.”
With such credentials, preachers of that caliber were welcome to “explain” “...the mystery of God, The
Father and Christ..” Can the reader imaging that?
At that time, 200 A.D. so called “pillars” (pre-catholic) of Christianity heard “pagan philosophers”
as their only source of information about things that are eternal and Divine to receive from them their definition of the
existence of God with “their humanistic minds” that could never understand the revelation from God!
What they did do to the Truth with their philosophies? They divided the Body of believers in three groups from the second
century through the four, ONE GOD CHRISTIANS, TWO GODS CHRISTIANS AND THREE GODS CHRISTIANS. (And the reader is in one of
the three groups)
One God people believed that The Lord Jesus in heaven now is both God and Father (“…Mighty God…Everlasting
Father”), Two Gods people believed that …The Word.. And The Father were two
Distinct Persons (The Holy Spirit was not defined as a “person” yet,) later on, some began to preach that the
Father was one Person The Son another, and then, they included The Holy Spirit as a Third Person and they got a “trinitas”
from Greek-Roman Philosophy from men who’s minds were darkened; saying:
“In the beginning, there was the first God, and then the logos was with him, then the Spirit who was borne upon the
waters”.
The Spirit borne upon the waters?
According to the Greek Philosophers, yes, and “that” was not all, of The Son “they” said:
“The Son is merely a created being, which God by adoption made unto advancement of himself…”
And “there is” a creed made by some of them and credited as “THE APOSTLES’ CREED”
Which says in part: “We believe in One God The Father Almighty, Maker of all things invisible and visible and in
one Lord Jesus Christ…BEGOTTEN OF THE FATHER BEFORE ALL WORLDS…”
Where all that came from? From believing the Father to the Fathers of what was going to be called Universal Church 325
A. D. Justin the martyr, who had adopted that kind of belief from the pagan philosopher Plato; who invented the philosophy
of …gods, offspring of gods… of whom I am the Artificer… (The first god supposedly said that).
And since Justin had presented his theory of The Father, first God, The Savior, second God and The
Spirit the third God, 165 A. D., Theophilus another believer came up with the Greek word Tpias
translated to Latin is Trinitas 182 A.D. and then for the first time to the titles Father Son and Holy Spirit were given
the terms of “persons” by another one of the “early fathers of the new church” by the name Tertullian;
by then, the disciples of the disciples of the disciples of the Apostles called all that teaching: …THE NEW DOCTRINE…
(Indeed it was “another doctrine).
The “term Trinitas” today is known as “Trinity”, and even so it may be presented by various and
different explanations, the “roots” are the same, just ask any roman clergy and see how proud they are about the
great contributions given by men like Justin the martir, Tertullian, Theophilus, Origen, Aquinas and others contributors to
the new church, THE UNIVERSAL, who then when baptizing new converts told them that they had received the Holy Spirit when
they first believe. (Sounds familiar??) Now days, Baptist preachers
are the Champions of that saying!
Years later about after 325 A.D. They called themselves “Catholic Christians”, and with the help of the unconverted
Emperor Constantine, a law was adopted to impose their new doctrine, the philosophy of three divine persons, which
the protestant denominations have now-days “as of their own selves”.
The Emperor Constantine became popular because he went to war under the emblem of a cross, but it never was the cross of
the Christian Faith, no, no, it was a cross that had been for a long time a symbol of a “pagan belief” and the
Emperor did pray to his gods before he went out to war.
Now days both Catholics and some Protestants do the same, they “carry a cross from their neck” hoping that
they will be bless by it; a witchcraft practitioner once told me on front of my congregation “…I carry this Cross
on my chest because Jesus told us to carry his cross and follow him (?).
In closing this simple reading material, I trust became like a beacon of Church History and began to dawn upon the reader
who ever may be, you have the right to “count the votes” (check this thing up) further more I dare you to do it;
and if a “new vote” is necessary for conscience sake, no one can vote for two oppose parties at the same time.
“...no one can serve two masters…”
Our good Lord gives this wonderful teaching with the promise! “…no man knoweth the Son but the Father neither
knoweth any man the Father save the Son and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him…” therefore the Apostle Paul
wrote this: “…and the preaching of Jesus Christ ACCORDING TO THE REVELATION OF THE MYSTERY…” an in
another letter he wrote “...making mention of you in my prayers that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ the Father of
glory may give unto you the spirit of WISDOM AND REVELATION IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF HIM.” (HIM, NOT THEM).
P.s. Truth opposes untruth, that, causes gladness to some and madness to others, isn’t it?
And Jesus said “…ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32 by: G.M.
