I
will deal in this reading material with what in my opinion is beyond man’s intellect: THE CHRIST OF GOD. No only that
Jesus was The Christ; but THE CHRIST OF GOD (the work of God, that is.) The creativity and saving activity of God that manifested
all the personal work that He did in His outreach to a lost humanity.) He made this question about Himself, as The Christ
of God: “…what think ye of the Christ?” “…who’s son is he?”
The
Apostle Paul said to the Ephesian brothers that he had baptized: “For I have not shunned to declare
unto
you all the counsel of God. Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath
made you overseers, to feed the Church of God, which He had purchased with His own blood” Acts 20:27,28. (God who is
a Spirit, came to this world in the flesh and was called “THE CHRIST OF GOD” from there the apostles’ assertions
“…Christ came in the flesh…”, “…God was manifested in the flesh…”, “…Christ,
who is God over all…, “We preach Christ, and Christ crucify.” “…God was in Christ, reconciling
the world unto Himself…” “God in Christ” (Deity within Humanity).
Paul continue; “For I know this, after my departing shall grievous wolves enter
in among you…of yourselves shall men arise speaking perverse things…” (perverse things beginning with unbelieving
Jews who waiting for their Messiah as a manifestation of their God; did not believe that the son of Mary was their Messiah;
that, following by Gentile believers receiving Gnosticsism believing that Jesus was the Son of God but not admitting that
The Father was in him, as he said it was.)
Then
we have Muslems, from Abraham, saying “…do no say, God has a son…” which saying was true
at
the time of Ishmael; but Ishmael did not know that “At the fullness of time, God sent His Son made
of
a woman, made under the law.” First Adam was made of the earth, second Adam was made of a woman.
Then
there are those that follow that young man that testified that he was saved, that Jesus was in his heart but suddenly he adopting
some of Darwing’s teachings began to preach “…nothing is truth…”
and that “….everything is permissible…” a lot of the younger set like that saying of Marx and testify
that Marxism has good teaching. (Nothing is truth?) That backslider who called himself saved, never knew the God of Truth,
which is The Spirit of Truth, the One who asserted “…I Am The Truth…”
The
same Apostle wrote to a young preacher by name Timothy about the same Ephesian church “…as I besought thee to
abide still at Ephesus, that thou mightest charge some that they teach not another doctrine 1st. Tim.1:3 (Mark
this down reader friend, NOT ANOTHER DOCTRINE).
1st.Tim.6:20,21.
“Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust…avoiding profane and vain babblings and oppositions of science
falsely so called, which some professing have erred concerning the faith…”
In
his second letter to Timothy Paul mentioned some of them who erred from the faith and called them “traitors” (disloyal
to the Apostles’ Doctrine), therefore “…reprobates concerning the faith”… who shall no endure
sound doctrine and shall turned to fables,” 4:3,4. Where there is no sound doctrine, it is always
substituted
by fables/perverse things).
Even
so God himself gave Israel a SIGN Isa. 7:14, both unbelievers Jews and Gentiles in Gnosticsim combined; caused a tremendous
difficulty to the faith in God in His plan of redemption by ignoring the sign and by that, dividing the godhead in three equals
of the same HOMOOUSIOS, implying a degree of deities; fable which God will revenge according to Rev. 18:20; because there
is no such a thing, Deity always has been a perfect single Deity; from the beginning as Divine Deity said “Let there
be light” Gen. 1:3. And He said: “See now, than I, even I, am He, and there is no god with me…I live for
ever.” Deut. 32:39,40.And on the end of the Holy Book He said “I made all things new” Rev. 21:5. speaking
as the EXALTED Son of Man now in heaven and speaking as the true God. 1st. John 5:20. He could not be the true
God with out the completeness of Divinity in Him. 1st. Tim. 3:16, Col. 1:19.
The
teaching of the Christian Gnostics, caused the Apostle John to write the way he did in his epistles; with trembling hand maybe
but not shaking conviction; he called “them” who did not believe the …doctrine of Christ, ANTI-CHRIST, an
unmatching title of what they were.
What
is Gnosticism? It is the very teaching of pagan philosopher Plato, who taught that it was impossible for God to identify himself
with humanity; since all matter was evil and thus the human body is evil being a prison for the spirit and God could not dwell
in such a prison.
For
that reason of them, Father Tertullian very bold said “…even if the Scriptures mention that God was manifested
in the flesh, I do not believe it…” And echoing that, Father Justin said “…I believe Plato…”.
Then,
Father Origen believe both of them, and Father Donatus believed Father Origen; so Father Cyprian received the same Gnostic
belief as did also Fathers Eusebious, Agustine and Jerome; to name few of the architects and pillars of the doctrine that
deny the oneness of God with His Christ. Col. 2:9.
These
men were very well educated Christians, but they saw the no-Gnostic believers as nobodies, it is why they dared to made the
“additions and subtractions and interpolations in the Apostles’ writings.” 200+ a.d.
They
were too wise in their own concepts, but in reality, They never came to a complete knowledge of God, they did not arrived
to the place to “…grow in grace and in the knowledge of God…” Paul wrote that “…the world
in its wisdom knew not God.” 1st Cor. 1:21.
O
yes, They all quoted Scriptures above the love of God, but when a honest knowledgable reader of their writings tested this
writings with the Apostle’s Theology, he can see how influenced by Platonic philosophy they all were.
Exhibit
1. The Apostle John wrote “…they confess not that Christ came in the flesh…” (no place for public opinion.)
This
Christ is the very one that Paul wrote about to the Phillipian brothers saying “… Christ Jesus who in form of
God subsisting…” 2:6. Greek text. That form of God were His theopanies in O.T. appearances of His pre-incarnation
as Angel, Servant/Son called His Christ. There never were views of a eternal begotten Son. That was/is Gnostic language; not
Apostolic Theology! God’s Son was made of a woman!!
The
title Christ means Messiah, which is called Holy One of God, which is the Anointed One, which is the Angel of The Lord, which
is the Angel of His Presence, which is His Presence as human being The Shekinah! All of God’s splendor in view as three Apostles witnessed in the mountain of transfiguration as a pre-view of His coming (then)
exaltation in heaven!
And
there is no other Almighty God but the One that appeared to Moses in a burning bush; The I AM…
“I
Am” means: He who causes Himself to become whatever the circumstances call for.” And becoming Jesus/the Christ, was one of them “circumstances” as well as becoming the Angel that appeared
to Abraham and said to him “…I swear by myself…” and Apostle Paul
wrote about it “…because He could not swear by a greater, He swear by Himself.” And the same Angel
appeared to Paul. Acts 27:23.
That
is the Christ that John wrote about “….whosoever transgreseth and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hat not
God.” And Paul called “reprovates” concerning the faith, they of so much worldly knowledge/wisdom! How about
that!
Reprovates
in the faith, because they did not digested the words of Jesus saying to “believe the work of God;” the personal outreach work of God!
Of
course, the Gentile Gnostics Fathers of the to be called Roman Church mentioned above, could not receive that because their
minds were already saturated with unbelief from the philosophy of Plato as mentioned
before and many times over the last ten years of my writings of this caliber to preachers only.
And
as they deviated further away from the Apostles’ Doctrine, modern Gnostics do not even realize that what they are preaching
today it is anti Apostles Theology!
Here
again, God will revenge what was done against the Apostles’ Doctrine Rev. 18:20; saying that God did not come to this
world since all matter is evil; saying that God being a Holy spiritual Being, could not be contaminated with the evil of humanity;
therefore instead, he sent His Son God to this world.
Here
it is where it gets more confusing as well contradictory to their own philosophy of their “first god” and “second
god;” because they used the Greek word Homoousios, meaning “ two
gods of the same substance” separated and distinct as any matter in the Universe, yet One God. How it can be?
That
being the case, that God the Son;(second god, as they called him) begotten eternally, and of the same “substance as
God the Father. ((first god, as they called Him) how is it that they both being equal of the same substance that could no
be contaminated with the evil of matter because their substance was IMPASSIBLE DIVINITY, the Son came to this world and very
clear he said “… the Father is in/with me…” “…the Father has not leave me alone…”
They both got contaminated with their fellowship with humanity, or what??
In
the Creed of Nicea 325 A.D. says of their doctrine of the Father and the Son:
“…being
of the same substance…” And Father Athanasios taught: “…the
Son is of the same substance as the Father, hence they are both equally God.” In the Old Testament one can read that
God said repeatedly
that
He has not equal, and Apostle Paul wrote that the Son “…made himself no equal to the Father…”
but
Gnosticsism said: “they are equal.” What report the reader believe?
Jesus
stated “…no man knoweth the Son, but the Father, neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and whosoever
the Son will reveal him.” Matt. 11:27. The Gnostics did not have this revelation
promised by Jesus, but their knowledge about God was sheer pagan philosophy! Paul wrote of them professing that they knew
God, (that) with their works they deny Him.” (typical).
And
he asked prayer for (the Apostles’ ministry) in this manner: “…withal praying also for us that God would
open unto us a door of utterance to speak the mystery of Christ…” Col.4:3.
Believe
it or not, it is a mystery, and it can be understood only by revelation of the Scriptures and nothing else can do it. John
wrote so dogmatically: “Whosoever transgresseth and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God, he that abideth
in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.” 2nd.John 1:9. One and the same ENTITY, that
is. That is the Doctrine of Christ, what is in it; “the Father in the Son, as Jesus said” and Paul wrote, “…God
in Christ…”
To
abide in the doctrine of Christ as John said, one must be acquainted with it, same as it is with any other doctrine of the
Apostles’ Doctrine, one cannot abide in what he does not have. The abiding in the doctrine of Christ develops the revelation
or opening of the Scriptures in the topic; in those grounds the Apostles preached “…according to the revelation
of the mystery, in order that (the hearts of the believers) might be
comforted
being knit together in love and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding to the acknowledgment of the mystery
of “…God of Christ…” Greek text. Or “Christ of
God” or “God namely Christ.” Col.2:2. That is using Greek words as they were written before they were trampled
by Gnostics bias. All that the Christ of God did, it was …God in Christ… acting; the Son said “hereto, the
Father work, and I work…: “…to the praise of the glory of His grace wherein He hath made us accepted in
the beloved. In Whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of his grace wherein
he hath abounded toward us in all WISDOM and PRUDENCE; (same wisdom and prudence as Proverbs, so, wisdom and prudence were
not persons; as it is preached that wisdom was the eternal Son of God 8:24,30.) having made known unto us (the Apostles, that
is) the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure which he purpose in himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness
of times, He might gather together in One (HOMOOUSIOS/SUBSTANCE) all things IN CHRIST, both which are in heaven and on earth,
EVEN IN HIM”. Eph. 1:6-10.
In
this sense, the doctrine of virgin Mary being used of God as the apparatus incubator were the Christ of God was to be formed
it was a NO,NO to the Gnostics whos’ doctrine was the incarnation of a
methaphisical eternal being; being begotten before the ages (Gnostic language) and his mother in time(?) became a goddess
and a symbol of idolatry! Well, I think anyone can smell the essence of the matter contrary to what Apostle Paul wrote “For
it pleased the Father that in him (His Christ, that is) all the fullness dwell.” that was the Fathers’ work that
Jesus said one must believe.
I,
as Apostolic believer, certainly believe and preach “…the work of God…” that: “While we were
sinners, Christ died for us…” Rom. 5:8, “In whom we have redemption through his blood the forgiveness of
sins; (from) Who is the image of the invisible God.” Col.1:14,15, The substance of God’s Person!
That
is on the foundation of the Apostles’ Doctrine, Gnostics deny that from Gen.1:1 to Rev. 22:13.
The
Gnostics saw to work out their modifications in the Apostolic letters specially
in the salutations of the epistles as “…God our Father and FROM the Lord Jesus Christ…” to be read
as (two persons) 1st. Cor 1:3, 2nd. Cor. 1:2, Col. 1:3,
Eph. 1:2, Phill. 1:2. The word “from” appears in Italics, it was
inserted by Gnostics.
Leave
the inserted word “from” out and you are reading about one Deity/entity, it is “HIM” not “them”
The way the Apostles wrote it! The Apostles never called “God in Christ” “them” or the “Father
in the Son” “they. God and the Lamb in the throne, it is ONE ENTITY!” This plural wordings were the Gnostic
language that by oral traditions has been inherited in christendom. At his very old age, Apostle John after seeing it at the
church of Ephesus, wrote two letters against them of Gnostic opinions already in the Christian fellowship, and in his Revelation
he mentioned some that “had left their first love” following some preachers falsely called “apostles”
teaching “another doctrine”. 2:1,2,4.
I
am writing about doctrine, doctrine all right, the doctrine that ever needed to be understood; WHY THE CHRIST? IT IS BECAUSE
JESUS IS THE SPIRIT OF PROPHESY.” Rev.19:10.
Paul
having the churches of his time in mind, wrote: “Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offenses
contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not The Lord Jesus Christ…
Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to (the) gospel, AND THE PREACHING OF JESUS CHRIST, ACCORDING TO THE
REVELATION OF THE MYSTERY, WHICH WAS KEPT SECRET SINCE THE WORLD BEGAN, BUT NOW IS MADE MANIFEST, AND BY THE SCRIPTURES OF
THE PROPHETS, ACCORDING TO THE COMMANDMENT OF THE EVERLASTING GOD, MADE KNOWN
TO ALL NATIONS FOR THE OBEDIENCE OF THE FAITH. TO GOD ONLY WISE, BE GLORY THROUGH JESUS CHRIST FOR EVER. AMEN” Roms.
16: 17,18,25,26
The
obedient to the faith, shall be rewarded, he/she will hear this words: “Welcome
faithful servant, enter to the joy the Lord.” To everlasting life; and everlasting life comes from “the Everlasting
Father.” Isa.9:6 And He already in heaven say “He that overcometh shall inherit all things. And I will be his
God, and he shall be my son.” Rev.21:7. Overcometh what? Overcome Gnostic belief, that is.
The
disobedient mentioned by Paul always said perverse things in nice words camouflaged; they always abuse true believers with
offences contrary to the Apostles’ Doctrine, even in our days, they corrupt and usurp apostolic authority abusing and
misusing the truth of The Christ of God: God manifested in the flesh!.; The personal outreach work of God!!
Most
modern Gnostics, ignore pivotal Scriptures about the receiving the Holy Ghost and the revelation that Jesus offered. From
long ago 325 a.d. of the sign of speaking with tongues as Jesus promised, they say it is craziness or devilish, not for this
time, and some with more refined mentality say it is “none sense thing”
of a real experience with God that in His Word we read it is called; The promise of the Father, The baptism with the
Holy Spirit, The quickening Spirit, The life given Spirit, The seal of the Spirit, Praying in the Spirit; The Spirit of the
resurrected Savior!!!
Well
this is all I have with this my very last writing to Gnostic preachers, I leave standing in the Word of my God that states:
“Eyes have they, but they see not. Ears have they, but they do not hear. Minds have they, but they do not understand.”
This
were the Scriptures used the very first time I was invited to preach in a church my wife and I had just became members; 1953-4
Immanuel Pentecostal Church, Westminster, British Columbia, Canada.
“…it
is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them (gnostics), it is not given.” Matt. 13:11.
and “…blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they
hear.” :16.
